Cataclysm rarely lives alone in a mods folder. Players pair it with other content, build it into adventure modpacks and lean on the community wiki for boss details. This guide sorts out what "addons" really means for this mod and how to combine it with other content without breaking your game.
What "Cataclysm addons" means
The word gets used for two different things:
- On Java Edition, an addon is simply another mod that works alongside Cataclysm: a library it needs, a compatibility patch, or a mod that adds integration.
- On Bedrock Edition, "add-on" is the official name for behaviour and resource packs. Bedrock add-ons with similar names are not versions of this mod, as explained in the Bedrock and PE article.
Companion mods that make sense
Recipe viewers
A recipe viewer shows what every boss drop is used for and how the mod's gear is made. It is the single most useful companion for a content mod.
Maps and waypoints
Marking a structure and returning to it later is much easier with a minimap. See the structures guide for how to find them in the first place.
Other adventure content
Dungeon and mob mods pair naturally with Cataclysm, but several content mods adding structures can crowd each other. Spread-out generation keeps each one special.
Building Cataclysm into a modpack
- Lock versions. Pick one Minecraft and loader version and choose every mod for it.
- Start small. Add Cataclysm and its dependencies, launch, then add other mods in batches. When something breaks, you know which batch to inspect.
- Check the config folder. After the first launch, look for Cataclysm's config files to see what your version lets you tune, such as boss or structure settings.
- Test a fight. Visit one structure in a test world before releasing the pack. Rendering and entity conflicts tend to show up there first.
- Document the list. Server players need the exact same files.
Redistributing a mod inside a modpack may be restricted by its licence or platform rules. Check the mod's licence and your distribution platform's policy before bundling files.
Using the Cataclysm wiki well
Players often search for the "Cataclysm mod wiki" or "Ender Cataclysm mod wiki". Community wikis are maintained by volunteers and document bosses, drops, recipes and structures in detail. They are great references, with two caveats:
- Versions differ. Pages may describe the newest release. If something does not match your game, check which version the page covers.
- Your game is the final word. A recipe viewer shows exactly what your installed version does.
This site is not a wiki and is not affiliated with the mod's author. We focus on setup, compatibility and practical guides; for detailed stats, the community wiki is the better place.
